The Moth Series is a continual collection of Lepidoptera. I want to highlight the unique patterns of moth wings and bodies in a small color palette. This was a part of a mark making course I partook in the summer of 2026. My mark-making experience opened my mind to the endless possibilities that imagination can create. I was surprised by how many different ideas could emerge, even within the strictest boundaries. This class helped me better understand my creative process and discover what I enjoy most as an artist. I realized that I work best when I have a set of rules, guidelines, or a prompt that I can interpret and transform through my own creativity. I was also introduced to the mark-making practices of other artists and gained a deeper appreciation for the different ways they interpret people, objects, and letterforms.
